 Frequently asked questions

Do you paint babies?

We love painting babies! The only requirement is that the baby is willing to be painted. We will not force a baby if he/she is crying, however we do all we can to make it happen.

How long does it take you to set up?

Our set up is super fast! It takes us less than 3 minutes to set up.

What do you require for setting up?
All I require is a small table and 2 chairs.
If outdoors, a shaded area protected from the elements.
If indoors, a well lit area near a window or lamp.

How many faces can you paint in an hour?

That varies according with the intricacy of the face painting designs.

The average face painter will paint 10 to 15 faces in an hour,

however because we are very seasoned at face painting at fairs and festivals, we can "speed paint" to fit any kind of events.

How many Tattoos can you do in an hour?

Tattoos are faster to apply. Glitter Tattoos and Airbrush Tattoos

can be applied up to 30 per hour.

How many Twisting Balloons can you do in an hour?

One balloon character take about a minute to create.

More detailed sculptures can take 3 to 5 minutes each.

If I have to cancel a party, what will happen to my retainer?

Your retainer check can be used to book another party within one year of the cancellation date. Dates will have to fit into our schedule.

Do you accept tips?

Yes! Gratuity is not mandatory but is highly appreciated.

Can you do large events?

Amazing Face Art can handle any size events in Connecticut and surrounding areas. Besides our team of face painters, balloon twisters, henna artists and temporary glitter and airbrush tattoo artists we have a network with local artists that allowe us to expand if nescessary.

How do you remove the face painting and the airbrush tattoos?

Face painting can be easily removed with soap and water. Use a wash cloth, avoid using baby wipes if possible. If any residue remains, remove it with a little bit of cream or make-up remover.

Airbush and glitter tattoos can be removed with baby oil or rubbing alcohol.

What kind of paint do you use?
We don't use paint, we use only  nontoxic, hypoallergenic, FDA compliant, cosmetic grade makeup, made specifically for use on the skin.

It's your children's skin! A lot of face painters use acrylic paints because it's cheaper. Those paints are not design for use on human skin and not recommended by the manufacturers. Click on the manufacturer's name for a detailed list of ingredients found in the supplies I use.
